Randal Ewing, 34, of the 9900 block of South Throop, was found shot in a car on the 900 block of West
Lake, around 3:00 AM, Sunday 5/31. Reports say he had just left a local nightclub,
the VICTOR HOTEL.

Our Goal
has been to document and report on the local nightclub problems,
in order to hold the club owners and appropriate City Agencies accountable.
It's the PROBLEMS we're trying to make go away...NOT the nightclubs.
If a particular
nightclub is responsible for reoccurring problems that are NOT being addressed by the owner or management,
and the only way to eliminate the problems it to eliminate the nightclub, it's the nightclub owners who
are ultimately responsible for the consequences.

"Those Who Forget History Are Doomed to Repeat It" This site was created to DETER violent public nightclub activity,
NOT glorify or promote it. While some local Nightclubs have been closed,
and others have changed their music venues
or have had their occupancy permits involuntarily reduced,
we'll continue to monitor nightly public activity of the remaining area clubs.
THESE CLUB PROBLEMS ARE NOT RANDOM!!!
People are NOT running up and down the street indiscriminately shooting and stabbing strangers.
ALL...and we mean ONE HUNDRED PERCENT...of the nightclub related stabbings and shootings have been targeted attacks. These incidents
were either the result of altercations that began inside the nightclubs or they were targeted hits,
where the victims were sought out by the attackers.
Difficulties occur when club owners & management do not take precautions, are apathetic as problematic conditions develop and
consequently ALLOW things to get out of control by tolerating the violence.
It shouldn't come down to the neighborhood acting as watchdog or the Chicago Police having to intervene as referee.
When forced into these roles, club owners have absolutely no one else to blame for the consequences...
and there WILL be consequences.

JANUARY 30, 2009 ANOTHER NIGHTCLUB SHOOTING & MURDER! THE SECOND MULTIPLE SHOOTING AND DEATH ALONG LAKE STREET THIS MONTH!!!
At 2:30 AM on 1/30/09, a shooting occurred INSIDE the
TRANSIT NIGHTCLUB, 1431 West Lake St.
Initial reports indicate TWO people were shot and one person killed.

FIRST CHICAGO HOMICIDE OF 2009 NEW YEAR'S DAY SHOOTING! ONE VICTIM DEAD, 2nd VICTIM SHOT IN THE FACE
On the afternoon of New Year's Eve, the City of Chicago Department of Buildings reduced
SHADOW BAR'S Occupancy Permit to 99. This is about
a quarter of the previous number of people allowed to occupy the 811 W. Lake Street nightclub.
We expected a quiet night... unfortunately, we were wrong.
Witnesses report gunshots were fired 1-1-09 at about 2:15 AM, just after patrons exited SHADOW BAR.
One victim was found dead on Green Street, just south of Lake and a second victim was found nearby, shot in the face. Investigations are underway by the
Chicago Police Area 4 Detective Division.
